Cocoa Classic Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon, and 5K is a race with a sweet tooth. Chocoholic heaven awaits at the finish line where you’ll celebrate the day with hot cocoa and chocolate fondue. Keep cozy post-run with your signature zip-up hoodie while indulging in cocoa bliss.

All registrations are non-refundable, however you are able to transfer your registration to another person for a transfer fee of $5 + any difference in race price (current event price – original event price paid). The transfer deadline will be announced once additional event locations are determined. All transfers requested after this deadline will not be honored. If you wish to transfer your registration, you may do so by logging into your account. If you do not have an EventSprout account, please call our office at 312-262-6099 or email and someone from our customer service team will reach out. Please have a credit card ready for the transfer fee. Red Frog Events reserves the right to change the transfer fee at any time.

Event-specific packet pick-up details will be announced closer to race day.

What you need to bring:
1. Photo ID
2. A signed copy of our participant waiver, available HERE.

Yes!  A person may pick up another registrant’s packet. In order to do so, that person must have:

1.  A photo copy of the registrant’s gov’t issued photo-ID
2. A copy of the registrant’s confirmation email
3. A signed note from the registrant authorizing the pick-up
i.e. “My name is John Smith and Jane may pick up my packet.”
4. A signed waiver from the registrant. Click HERE to view/print a waiver.

If you do not have all of these items, we will be unable to release the packet on the registrant’s behalf.


The registration deadline will depend on the race location, and will be announced once additional locations are solidified.

We will have photographers taking photos along the course. More details will be released closer to race day.

There will be a free gear check tent on-site. Cocoa Classic is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

There will be designated spectator viewing areas throughout the course. In addition, there will be hot cocoa for sale to help keep supporters and cheering voices warm.

Yes; the half marathon, quarter marathon, 5K will be timed races.

Course details will be announced closer to race day.

There will be medical personnel along the course and in the festival area to ensure participant safety during the event.

Water stations will be located along the course and at the finish line. Additional fuel will be available at aid stations for half marathon participants. Be sure to hydrate in advance of the event, as well as during and after.

For safety purposes, strollers are not allowed on the course.

For the 5K race, participants must be 8 years or older. For the half marathon and quarter marathon, participants must be 12 years or older. All minors must be accompanied by an adult and have a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.  If a minor is accompanied at the event by an adult that is not their parent or guardian, their parent or guardian may complete the waiver in advance of the event.  Please click HERE to download the waiver.

The Cocoa Classic is a rain or shine event.  In the case of dangerous weather that threatens the safety of participants or staff, Red Frog Events reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event.  In the event of a cancellation, there will be no refunds.

Hot cocoa and running aren’t the only ways to feel warm and cozy on the inside. Give your heart that warm, fuzzy feeling by becoming a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and help find the cure for children with life-threatening illnesses. If you are interested in fundraising for St. Jude, sign up to become a St. Jude Hero during registration. You’ll be helping save the lives of children as well as be eligible for prizes and race day incentives. Once you reach each donation level, you’ll receive the tiered prizes below:
